Text: John 9:13-25
Memory Verse: “He answered and said, ‘Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see’” (John 9:25).
The greatest lessons in life often come through personal experiences. The story of the man born blind, as told in the Bible, powerfully illustrates how personal experience strengthens our confidence and faith in God. Even his parents confirmed that he could speak for himself, possibly because of the experience he had.
Though the Pharisees tried to discredit and dismiss the miracle of the man’s healing, pressuring him to denounce Jesus as a sinner rather than recognise Him as the Messiah, the man’s response was profound. He confirmed the restoration of his sight. No amount of argument, threat, or skepticism from the Pharisees could invalidate the personal encounter he had just experienced. This became the foundation of his faith, as he later acknowledged Jesus as Lord (John 9:36-38).
Faith can come to you through reading about other people’s experiences, hearing testimonies, or participating in fellowship with others. While these sources can help strengthen your belief, the faith that endures the most is rooted in your own personal encounters with God. There is a unique strength and certainty that comes when you have experienced His power and love firsthand.
How much personal experience have you had with the Lord? If you desire a rich, fulfilling Christian journey, it is essential to seek direct, personal experiences with God. You cannot solely rely on others’ experiences or their descriptions of the Lord. Your own journey with Him will fuel your faith and solidify your relationship with Him.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, grant me personal encounters with You that will leave lasting
impressions on my faith.
2. Lord, I thank You for those personal revelations You are bringing to me.
