Text: Romans 12: 11&12, 1Thessalonians 5:17
Memory Verse: “Pray without ceasing” (1Thessalonians 5:17).

Some children grew up with a savings culture of setting aside part of their monetary Christmas gifts into a piggy bank made of clay in the olden days. After a long time, the piggy bank is broken and the money kept is spent joyfully.

A bank is a safe and guaranteed place of storage. Prayer was illustrated by Jesus as He prayed in John 17 and as He taught his disciples how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13. We saw them practice this later, giving themselves continually to prayer and the ministry of the word.

A pastor once shared, “As a mischievous and stubborn boy while growing up, I often got into trouble. My typical African mum would let me sleep, then wake me at midnight to discipline me and, eventually, give me food before she returned to bed. Each time she prayed: ‘This boy will serve God and bring glory to Your name’. Today, I see her prayers answered. God transformed me into who I am.” Her faith was not in vain. Prayers are never a waste, they are seeds, all aligning to a perfect timing. Keep praying for the things yet to be seen, make intercessions and believe that they are being heard by God. Back it up by studying and meditating on His word so you can pray right (Joshua 1:8). As believers, this is the medium of communion with God. In wholeness of heart, believe, knowing your prayers are being deposited into a spiritual bank. Keep praying!

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, thank You for the blessings of my fathers in faith that I am enjoying today.
2. Father, grant me strength and grace to be an intercessor.
