Text: Psalm 139: 1-7
Memory Verse: “O Lord, You, have searched me and known me” (Psalm 139:1).
Thoughts are incredibly powerful, shaping who you truly are. They remain hidden unless you choose to express them. Proverbs 23:7 states, “…as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” This means your thoughts define you, whether you realise it or not.
When your mind wanders, what do you dwell on? Your unguarded thoughts reveal your true self. What are the secret meditations of your heart? God sees them clearly and considers them far more important than the outward displays
of faith, the Bible you carry, the church activities you engage in, or the Christian identity you profess. Are your private thoughts pure or impure? Do they align with God’s standard of holiness? Apostle Paul provides a guide in Philippians 4:8, saying that your thoughts should be about things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report etc.
Matthew 25:24&25 tells the story of the servant who held evil thoughts about his master. Sadly, some people like him laugh and dine with others while secretly harbouring harmful thoughts against them. But God knows the heart, and nothing is hidden from Him.
It is time to take control of your thoughts. Make a conscious decision to renew your mind daily and ask the Holy Spirit to help you bring every thought into captivity under Christ’s lordship. When your thoughts align with God’s will, your life will reflect His glory. Let your heart and mind be a place where godly thoughts flourish!

1. Lord, let the secret thoughts of my heart be pure always.
2. Holy Spirit, help me guard my heart against evil thoughts.
