The Thoughts Of Peace

Text: Jeremiah 29:7-14
Memory Verse: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the most thrilling promises in Scripture and by God’s covenant faithfulness, it shall be fulfilled in our lives. What particularly stands out is the phrase “thoughts of peace.” This reveals that God does not desire anything to disturb your peace. Anxiety, fear, worry, and agitation are contrary to His divine plan. Peace is His will for you, and may His desire for your peace come to pass, especially within your heart. The God of peace will silence everything agitating the heart of everyone who believes in Him.

If God is thinking thoughts of peace and has a plan for a glorious end, why should you think evil or disaster about yourself? God is greater than any problem you face. You must, therefore, expect good things and believe that you shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. From this moment forward, may the unspeakable peace of God fill your heart. May that peace which passes all understanding render every adversity and adversary powerless. What truly matters is God’s plan, not the devil’s schemes.

Remember, God has promised never to leave nor forsake you, no matter the situation (Hebrews 13:5). The thought of an all-knowing, all-powerful God watching over you should be more than enough to comfort you, like it did Daniel and enabled him to maintain a calm and peaceful attitude while sharing the den with the lions (Daniel 6:20-22).

Prayer Points:
1. O God of peace, deal with everything and anything agitating my heart.
2. Father, let Your peace flood my heart from today.
