Text:
Esther 5: 11-14,7:5-10
Memory Verse:
“Then the king said to Haman, ‘Hurry, take the robe and the horse, as you have suggested and do so for Mordecai the Jew who sits within the king’s gate! Leave nothing undone of all that you have spoken'” (Esther 6:10).
Sometimes we wonder why we are being faced with intimidation and oppression in our workplaces. It could also be intimidation and oppression from friends and relatives. Even in your current situation, the one that is oppressing you might even get promoted ahead of you and you may
be wondering why.Remember that in Esther 3:1 Ahasuerus promoted Haman the oppressor of
Mordecai. Are you wondering and crying persistently why that rich man is after your little business that is just growing? Some of the reasons might be: envy, greed, pride and wickedness, but the tide will suddenly turn one day and your helper of destiny will emerge.
Just as the king could not sleep because he needed to favour Mordecai and asked Haman to advise him on how to honour a man he delighted in, so your helper of destiny will not be able to sleep until the book of remembrance is opened for you and your family. Haman, thinking he was that king’s delight, suggested many good things to be done to the one the king delights in. In the end, the evil he plotted for Mordecai backfired on him. Just as the king could not rest in Esther 7:10, so God will not rest until all your oppressors are seriously dealt with.
In Esther 6:10-11 the tide turned in favour of Mordecai. You too can be decorated with royal regalia, if only you put your trust in God. When the tide turns in your favour, your enemies will have their heads covered in shame.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, it is my turn to experience divine turn around in all areas of my life.
2. Lord, help me to overcome all my oppressors.
