Text: John 4:34-36
Memory Verse: “Jesus said to them, my food is to do the will of Him who sent
Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34).
One sure way to pursue our goal in life is to become more like Christ. According to Isaiah 43:7, man was created to glorify God and dwell in His presence forever. A goal is a desired result or achievement; an endpoint in a race. For Christians who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, the ultimate goal should be to witness to others, serve God in holiness, win the Christian race and above all make heaven.
In the journey toward fulfilling this goal, believers often face challenges, frustration, lack, poverty, sickness or barrenness. Yet, in all situations, your focus must remain on Jesus Christ. With persistent prayer, dependence on the Holy Spirit and a godly lifestyle rooted in the Scripture, you can overcome.
God’s eternal purpose for calling you is to conform you to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). Once you surrender your life to Christ, your ambitions must shift. Your life goals should align with His will. There is no greater satisfaction than walking closely with God and receiving divine insight as He reveals His deep secrets to you.
The Christian life is a race and every believer must run with a purpose. Paul said, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). Your ultimate aim should be to reign with the King of kings. Heaven must be your goal. Every effort, sacrifice and act of faith is worth it. Eternity with Christ awaits you.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, Heaven is my ultimate goal.
2. Father, please remove every obstacle that will hinder me from achieving my goal in life.
