Text: Psalm 29: 3&11
Memory Verse: “The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty” (Psalm 29:4).

A man’s voice represents authority and power, proving that he is alive. This is particularly true for kings and those in positions of influence. Likewise, the living God still speaks. Hearing God audibly is an awe- inspiring experience, as seen when He spoke to the Israelites on Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:16&20). However, He also speaks in a still small voice, as experienced by Elijah in 1 Kings 19:12.

God speaks in various ways: through the Bible, His written Word; through dreams and visions as when Paul encountered Jesus. He also speaks through creation – His works reveal His greatness; and through His Spirit, leading and convicting His children.

God does not waste words and His children must recognise His voice. When He speaks, He expects obedience (John 10:4). However, for the disobedient, His voice may bring judgement and correction. When God spoke to Abraham, it transformed his name, life and destiny forever. God gave him specific instructions from time to time, even in the ordinary things of life such as during his separation from Lot. Abraham positioned himself to listen and hear from God, deferring to Him.

Today, God still speaks to His people, giving direction, transformation, and miracles. His voice has the power to break obstacles and destroy problems. The voice of God is mighty and life-changing! Are you listening? If you walk with Him in holiness and truth, His voice will guide, empower, and uplift you. Moses and other Bible characters heard Him clearly. You too can hear Him.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to remove every obstacle to hearing Your voice.
2. Tune my ears to recognise Your voice, O Lord.
