Text: Numbers 11:4&8
Memory Verse: “but now our whole being is dried up, there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!” (Numbers 11:6)
The Israelites quickly forgot the goodness of God, after being free from the Egyptians. Their craving for food blinded them from acknowledging the great things God had already done for them. How do you react when faced with challenges? Do you find yourself blaming God or questioning His plans? Are you neglecting spiritual growth and focusing only on material needs? Jesus warned in John 6:26&27 that many followed Him only for physical gain, but life is more than food (Matthew 6:25).
The key to true sustenance is found in God’s Word. Though material things are important to life, man shall not live by bread alone. Instead of focusing on temporary discomfort, go back to the Bible and meditate on God’s promises,
understanding that your current struggles are not permanent. Stand firm on God’s Word to supply your needs and do not allow temporary lack of supply to separate you from your eternal goals. Like Paul, determine that nothing will
separate you from the love of Christ.
Do not trade your glorious future for temporary satisfaction like Esau who lost his birthright for a mere meal (Genesis 25:29&34). Egypt was good, but was a land of bondage and could never compare to Canaan, the land of freedom, promise and abundance. Learn to thank God for the little blessings you have and, soon, you will experience greater manifestations of His power. Stay focused, remain grateful, and trust God’s plan. Your Canaan is ahead!
Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, let me know the hope to which You have called me.
2. Lord, let every veil of the present gain blindfolding me from the glorious future I have in You be removed.
