Text: 2 Chronicles 20:1-4; 20-26
Memory Verse: “Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated” (2 Chronicles 20:22).
Life is full of battles. At one time or the other, you are fighting. The journey of faith is called a fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12). The good thing is that you are victorious already as a result of your faith in Christ Jesus (1 John 5:4).
A great multitude came against Jehoshaphat, he became frightened and sought the Lord for help, realising that He could not face the great multitude on his own. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah to seek the face of the Lord. The word of God came to him instructing and assuring him that He was with them. They went to the battle singing and praising God and, as they did this, the Lord set ambushes against their enemies and they were defeated.
The same thing happens whenever you are confronted with any battle and you set yourself to seek the face of the Lord. As soon as you hear from Him and He gives you assurance, all you have to do is to trust Him, rest on His promises, praise Him and, as you do, victory will be yours. Jehoshaphat decided to praise the Lord, despite the battle, because the Lord had assured Him that the battle
was not theirs. And, indeed, the Lord fought for them. Whatever battle of life you are confronted with, all you have to do is to believe God’s word about that matter, and praise Him for what He said, and it will surely come to pass.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, thank You for the victory You have given me in Christ Jesus.
2. As I praise You, let all my enemies be defeated.
