Mark 4: 36-41
Memory Verse:
“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’…” (Matthew 4:39a).
In 2023, there were disasters all around the world which affected people, generally. The unabating Russian – Ukrainian war, the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, the stormy floods in New Zealand, Madagascar, Mozambique and USA among others, brought untold destruction and hardship on people while they lasted. They were physical storms to those affected. Yet storms, by nature, do not last forever. There are spiritual storms as well, which affect individuals or groups of persons.
A strange wind hits a man while on his seat in the office, and almost immediately, a strange object begins to move around his body, causing severe pains. Every medical diagnosis failed to identify the ailment for a long time, until some brethren prayed; then an equally strange crawler fell out of his body, dead. The healing was instant thereafter!
It is necessary to identify the nature and possible source of storms, before seeking for help or solution, otherwise a wrong diagnosis and treatment would emerge. The disciples identified the stormy water as the enemy and Jesus as the solution, so they went to Him. They soon understood why He slept so soundly while Satan roused up the storm – He was and still is the Master of the ocean and storm. Jesus’ three words – ‘peace, be still’ did it! You only need to identify the storm and come to Jesus, the Master of storms for a solution. The solution may appear delayed in coming, from human perspective, yet it will come (Habakkuk 2: 3).
Your testimony will not be long in coming as you pray in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Points:
1 Lord, help me to hold on to You to the end, no matter the storm.
2. Pray for the recovery and restoration of everyone who has been swept away by the storms of life.
