Text: Zephaniah 3:8&9, 14-20
Memory Verse: “’Therefore wait for Me,’ says the LORD, ‘Until the day I rise up for plunder; My determination is to gather the nations To My assembly of kingdoms, To pour on them My indignation, All My fierce anger; All the earth shall be devoured With the fire of My jealousy’” (Zephaniah 3:8).
A Yoruba proverb states, “When a young man falls, he stands and looks forward, but when an elderly one falls, he looks back to see how and why he fell.” This wisdom encourages self-examination. How have you fared spiritually, financially, physically, and in your career, business, and project goals in recent months?
Take a moment to reflect on the recent past. Have you made progress in your job, career, or business? Regardless of the challenges you faced, give God the glory. It could have been worse, but Christ has sustained you; a proof of God’s faithfulness. Though life is a mix of different seasons, God always has good plans for His children. It was so for the Israelites.
Regardless of your assessment of your performance and progress, you must look to Jesus for help (Hebrews 12:2); Follow His guidance and obey His Word; and present your requests to Him, trusting in His perfect timing. Let your desires align with God’s will.
In Isaiah 43:18&19, God promises to do new things. He will lead you to greater heights, guide you through beautiful experiences, and establish you in splendour. For the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, will perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you (1 Peter 5:10). God knows how to “settle” His children; just remain faithful and be hopeful. The latter glory shall be greater than the former.
Prayer Points:
1. Let my tomorrow be better, O Lord.
2. Commit your desires for the rest of the year into the hands of the Lord.
