Text:
2 Chronicles 6:3-10
Memory Verse:
“So the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke, and I have filled the position of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised; and I have built the temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel” (2 Chronicles 6:10).
The case of some Christians who claim not to have received any answer from God’s promise, having trusted Him, was mentioned during a Christian gathering and it was conclusively agreed that God is a promise-keeping God. Romans 10:11 says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Trusting God is more than just paying lip service. As children of God, we must maintain a close relationship with Him, obey His word, believe in Him and trust in His ability to fulfil His promise and deliver us from our challenges. King David desired to build a temple for the Lord, but God said to him that even though his desire to build a temple for His name was a good one, he was not permitted to do so. This is because he had been a man of war and had shed blood (1 Chronicles 28:3). God rather instructed that Solomon, David’s son, would be the one to build the temple. Solomon trusted God for this promise and it came to pass in his time.
What is it that you are trusting God for? Spiritual growth, grace to overcome trials and temptations, a good job, good health, or peace in your marriage? God will give it to you according to His will. He is not a man that lies nor the son of man that repents. When He says a thing, He does it. So, come to Him in absolute trust and He will give you rest.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, give me the grace to continually trust You in my challenges.
2. Father, give me solutions to all the issues bothering me.
