Psalm 62: 1-8

Memory Verse:
“My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him” (Psalm 62:5).

It is a wonderful privilege to have access to God. This is because, though the door has been opened for all to gain unhindered access to Him, for more than 2000 years, many people are either ignorant of the fact or are resisting the call to do the needful. The word of salvation has not mixed with faith in them. Waiting for God’s help means allowing Him a free hand and trusting that everything will work out right. He is the Almighty. He came through for Isaac and Jacob when their wives, Rebecca and Rachel, experienced delay in child bearing. He answers our prayers because He is compassionate and not necessarily because we deserve it. He does things for us because of His
covenants (Psalm 23: 3).
He has His own calendar which may be different from ours, but we must be patient. King Saul lost the throne because he was impatient. God understands our needs. We are better off waiting for His plans and purposes. Many times, we feel God has forgotten us, but He never forgets because He is faithful. He does whatever He promises and He is never late. The fact that we have prayed does not mean that there will not be contrary storms. We confirm our faith in God when we stand firm in our belief, in spite of challenges and oppositions. Indeed, the physical things we see may contradict our understanding of His promises (Habakkuk 3:17-19). Whoever puts his trust in God will not be put to shame. No matter the situation you are in, remember to wait patiently.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, give me grace to wait upon You no matter the storm.
2. Lord, please still every storm in my life.
