Joshua 6:1-5

Memory Verse:
“And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into your hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour” (Joshua 1:2).

The Israelites had been walking in the scorching wilderness when they Tcame face to face with the walls of Jericho. These walls were standing between them and the promised land of Canaan. Walls can limit a man. They can also mean setbacks, stagnation and losing out in the promised land. The “walls of Jericho” represent hindrances to achieving the purpose of God for your life. You cannot make progress in life, until the walls come down. God never puts a wall of Jericho in our life to defeat us. Any test we face is to make us stronger, not grind us into the dust. 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” So the first step when facing a wall is to determine in your heart that it is conquerable in Jesus’ name. You can bring down the walls of Jericho hindering your progress or you choose to let them defeat you.
Two of the spies — Caleb from the tribe of Judah, and Joshua, from the tribe of Ephraim — went forward to calm the people. They confirmed the fruitfulness of the land, but disagreed that it could not be conquered. Caleb pleaded, yet the 10 other spies continued to spread their frightening report among the people (Numbers 13:30-33).
As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). God told Joshua, I have given Jericho into your hands. You need to believe the word of God, and act according to His instructions and the battle will be over.

Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, I believe in You and the power in the name of Jesus.
2. I pull down every wall between me and the fulfilment of my dreams.
