Text: Exodus 15:3-11; Psalm 91:1-3
Memory Verse: “Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence” (Psalm 91:3).
The lion is a big cat regarded as the king of the forest because of its strength and courage. The lamb, on the contrary, is a young sheep, so gentle that it can easily be overpowered. Now imagine God Almighty as the Lion and the Lamb. He is the Lion of Judah, so strong and powerful that He cannot be stopped, yet He is tender. He showed His tenderness when, as Christ, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter but opened not His mouth (Isaiah 53:7).
After accepting Him as Lord, you experience God jealously guarding over you tenderly as a mother cares for her child. In Exodus 5-15, God showcased His power when He rescued the defenseless Israelites from the Egyptians in a ‘show-of-might war’ that did not involve physical combat. When three armies came against Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20, and he turned to God, God showed up, causing the enemies to fight and destroy each other. His people only came to cart away the spoils of war! He kept David from Saul’s soldiers with a newly spun spider’s web. His wisdom and knowledge are unfathomable.
Who can stop your God and Father, the Almighty? A thousand devils cannot.
Johnson and Tomlin’s song says, “Your name is the highest
Your name is the greatest
Your name stands above them all
All thrones and dominions
All powers and positions
Your name stands above them all.”
Rest assured. Your God is unstoppable.
Prayer Points:
1. I praise You, the unstoppable God.
2. Please fight the battles confronting me, Lord.
