Text: Philippians 4:6&7; 1 Peter 5:7
Memory Verse: “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7, KJV)

Jesus, take the wheel,” the songwriter wrote—a cry for surrender that many of us echo in prayer or song. Yet in reality, we often find ourselves clutching the wheel again, when God’s direction feels uncomfortable or uncertain. While we profess trust, our anxiety and attempts to control outcomes tell another story. We claim surrender with our lips, but subtly act out of fear, trying to steer our own lives.

Paul’s letter in Philippians encourages believers to “be anxious for nothing”, but instead bring every concern to God in prayer. Similarly, Peter instructs us to cast all our cares upon Him. These scriptures are not poetic suggestions; they are commands anchored in God’s care for us. Even Jesus, in Gethsemane, showed us the perfect balance of honesty before God and surrender: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” Full surrender does not mean silence; it means trust. In our daily lives, worry often creeps in subtly. We say we trust God, but spend hours mentally rehearsing worst-case scenarios or stressing over timelines. That is like telling Jesus to take the wheel, then grabbing it back, when the road gets bumpy. It may seem responsible, even wise, but it is a quiet form of disobedience; one that can rob us of peace and lead to exhaustion.

Today, ask yourself sincerely: who owns the wheel of your life—God or your fears? It is time to surrender fully, not just in song or Sunday declarations, but in the quiet choices of your heart. Let Him drive. Trust His way.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, deliver me from anxiety.
2. Holy Spirit, teach me to surrender all.
