Text: Hebrews 11:32-40, 12:1
Memory Verse: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1).

The Christian faith is often compared to a demanding long-distance race filled with obstacles, and rough tracks, and not a short easy sprint. It is a race that calls for great patience, determination, and perseverance to reach the finish line. The journey of faith is not without its challenges, as you encounter trials, temptations, and moments of weakness along the way. The encouraging news, however, is that many champions of faith have successfully run this race before you, and their lives now serve as inspiring examples for those of us still running. In Hebrews 11, a host of faithfuls, including Jacob; Jephthah; Sarah; and even Rahab, a prostitute, were highlighted. These people, despite their personal struggles, flaws, and imperfections, were able to complete the race of faith successfully (Hebrews 11:39). Their lives testify to the power of perseverance and faith, and they now form “a great cloud of witnesses” who cheer you on in your own journey of faith.

If they could endure and triumph despite their struggles, so can you. You are not alone in the race, but part of a spiritual legacy of faith. The grace and strength to keep running the course of your Christian journey, with your eyes
fixed on Jesus, the ultimate prize, and to emerge as a champion of faith is available in Christ. Keep the faith, encourage yourself in the Lord, and press on toward the goal. The finish line awaits those who persevere!

Prayer Points:
1. Thank You, Lord, for calling me into Your kingdom and the journey of faith.
2. Lord, I receive sufficient grace to endure and finish this race.
