Text: Matthew 14: 22-33
Memory Verse: “And Peter answered Him and said, ‘Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.’ So He said, ‘Come.’ And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus” (Matthew 14:28&29).
Peter dared to ask, and he received an extraordinary miracle. He walked on water because he obeyed the command of the One who has power over all creation. Imagine the emotions of the other apostles as they watched him without a boat, raft, or human intervention walking on water! Their amazement must have been overwhelming. However, just when the story was getting more intriguing, the storm arose, and Peter’s attention shifted. He took his eyes off Jesus, the One who called him to do the extraordinary. Instead, he focused on the waves and, as a result, began to sink.
Perhaps this story resonates with your current situation. You started well, full of faith, but along the way, challenges arose and shifted your focus. Storms come in different forms, financial struggles, health issues, emotional turmoil, or unexpected disappointments. You become what you see. If you allow life’s difficulties to dictate your perspective, you may miss the opportunities hidden within them. Mere men see stones, but sculptors see masterpieces. Mere men see dead wood, but skilled hands craft beauty.
The key is to look up and see things from the right perspective. Peter did something wise; he cried out for help, and Jesus stretched out His hand to save him. You can do the same. When you keep your eyes on Jesus, you will walk above every storm.
You are unstoppable. Keep your focus on Christ and walk boldly in faith. With Jesus, the impossible becomes possible!
