Text: Matthew 1:20-23
Memory Verse: “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus: for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
The birth and coming of Jesus Christ into the world was not accidental; it was purposeful. Even when Joseph, Mary’s betrothed, became confused and troubled about the paternity of the unborn child, God intervened through a divine message. He reassured Joseph that the child was conceived by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus was born to fulfill a specific mission; to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21b). This highlights a profound truth: divine purpose governs every life sent by God into the world.
As a child of God, you are not here by chance. Your existence is not a random occurrence. There is a divine agenda attached to your life, one that only you can fulfill. Every breath you take, every opportunity you receive and every new day granted to you is a provision from God to help you fulfill that purpose.
Have you taken time to seek and understand why you are here on earth? Your purpose may be revealed through a gift or talent that God has planted in you. Do not neglect it, nurture it, develop it and use it for His glory (1 Peter 4:10&11). Purpose brings clarity to your life. It gives you direction, simplifies your decisions, motivates your actions and prepares you for eternity.
Just as Jesus, Paul and many others lived intentionally to fulfill divine assignments, you too are called to leave a mark. You were not created to merely exist, you were designed to make an impact.
Prayer Points:
1. Father, help me to fulfill Your purpose for my life.
2. I refuse to live aimlessly in life.
