Text: Revelation 2:1-5
Memory Verse: “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love” (Revelation 2:4).

The message to the church in Ephesus reminds us that, even amid good works and commendable actions, we can lose sight of our first love for God. God commended the Ephesians for their perseverance and discernment but noted that they had forsaken their first love – the passion they had for Him when they first believed. Despite their accomplishments, He warned them that He would remove their lampstand, if they did not repent and return to that first love. Thankfully, they were given the opportunity to repent and restore that relationship.
Similarly, God is calling you today to reflect on your own spiritual life. Are you like the church at Ephesus, going through the motions of serving God, but lacking the deep, passionate love you once had? Do you still have the zeal for the things of God you had when you first believed or when you were younger?

Are you still evangelizing, praying, and seeking God’s presence with the same intensity as before? These are questions you must ask yourself as you evaluate your current spiritual state. If you have grown cold or lukewarm in your faith, this is an invitation to repent, rekindle your relationship with God, and restore that closeness and intimacy. The warning is clear: you must not take your relationship with God
for granted, lest your lampstand is removed.

Will you heed His call today? Return to your first love and begin to enjoy the fullness of God’s presence again.

Prayer Points:
1. Thank You, Lord, for Your love for me. Please help me to recognize the true state of my love for You.
2. Father, let my love for You wax stronger and stronger.
