Luke 17:12-14
Memory Verse:
“So when He saw them, He said to them, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed” (Luke 17:14).
Ten lepers who needed healing called out to Jesus for mercy and help. All He said in reply was that they should go and show themselves to the Priest. This inspection was required by law to confirm that they were healed. They must have believed His word because they actually started out to go to the Priest. Their healing came as they went in obedience and faith. Hannah had been praying for a baby, but this time after Eli the high priest pronounced the word of God over her, she left, believing, and was no longer sad. It was in her going and living life that her miracle came (1 Samuel 1:16-20).
Many people are hasty and have a problem with waiting for things to happen. Saul could not wait longer than Samuel told him to before offering the sacrifice and unfortunately bungled his chances of continuing as king (1 Samuel 13:8-14).
When God makes you a promise, it might take time to manifest physically, though work starts immediately He gives the nod (Habakkuk 2:3). You must learn to wait, knowing that the answer to your request will come as you go about life. Even though your belief and faith in God’s word and capability is tested, like it was in Abraham’s case, wait until the Lord fulfils His Word to
you. His grace is sufficient for you. Go on with life. The answer will come as you go.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, grant me the grace to trust Your word.
2. Grant me the grace to wait on You.
