Psalm 34:15-21

Memory Verse:
“The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time” (Psalm 34:19,NLT).

A rescuer is a person who saves someone from a dangerous or difficult situation. Jehovah God is our rescuer. The Egyptians would have ended the lives of the Israelites in the Red Sea, but God rescued them. When do you need Jehovah the rescuer?
1. When all hope seems lost: Abraham hoped against hope (Romans 4:18). Have you been told “there is no hope”, “to forget about child bearing because you do not have a womb”, that “you do not meet the required age for the job” and “that the sickness has no cure”?
2. When all roads are blocked: When the Children of Israel were at the Red Sea, to move forward was like a suicide mission, to go back was unthinkable. It was like being between the devil and the deep blue sea. A way of escape seemed practically impossible. Are you in a similar situation
now?
3. When you are helpless: To be helpless is to lack support when you are unable to help yourself i.e. no one is ready to help you (John5:7). Sometimes it is like being dead while living.
4. When the enemy (especially household enemy) seems to have this upper hand over you.
5. When sin has dominion over you: You are struggling with sin or an addiction, when the contrary should be the case (Romans 6:14). Jehovah, the rescuer says “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15).

Prayer Points:
1. Jehovah the rescuer, please come to my rescue today.
2. Lord, put an end to every struggle of my life.
