Text: Leviticus 19:2, Luke 3:21 & 22
Memory Verse: “And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, ‘You are My beloved Son in You I am well pleased’” (Luke 3:22).
It is unfortunate for people to assume that they are in the faith when they are not. This is the situation of many who associate themselves with Christianity because of family, social acceptance, convenience and economic reasons. Every other reason for identifying with Christ, other than the cross, disqualifies a man from the power of Christ’s life. Those who lack this power also lack the fruits of righteousness and holiness. It is little wonder that many who are associated with Christ cannot live like Him.
To avoid being deceived, remember that the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal that the Lord knows those that are His (1 Timothy 2:19). Does God know you? God attested to Jesus being His Son. The second part is to challenge those that know Christ to depart from iniquity. One major evidence of being God’s child is the ability to do away with sin. The name of Christ is not associated with sin. God should be proud to call a Christian His child everywhere. This is the testimony Jesus had that God said of Him “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased…” (Mark 1:11).
If you are not sure of your standing with God, you can give your life to Him today. Ask Him to help you do away with every form of sin and write your name in the book of life. You can also rededicate your life to Him, if you have
drifted from faith.

1. Lord, please forgive me in every way I have deviated from You.
2. Lord, please help me to be Your child again.
