Believe and You Will See

Text: John 11:38-44
Memory Verse: “Jesus said to her, ‘Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?’” (John 11:40).

To believe is to accept that something is true, even when there’s no tangible proof. In the biblical context, believing goes beyond mere intellectual assent. It involves a deep trust and reliance on God’s promises, even when circumstances make it seem impossible. This is evident
in Martha’s conversation with Jesus. Despite her brother Lazarus’ death, Jesus assured her that she would see the glory of God, if she believed.

The Bible is replete with examples of individuals who demonstrated remarkable faith in God’s promises. Abraham, for instance, trusted God’s
promise, despite his advanced age and the seeming impossibility of having a child (Romans 4:18-20). Caleb, one of the spies sent to scout the Promised Land, believed that God would give them the land, despite the obstacles and challenges they saw (Numbers 14:6-9). The Centurion, in Matthew 8:8, also demonstrated remarkable faith, believing that Jesus’ word alone could heal his servant.

These biblical examples are not merely historical anecdotes; they serve as a testament to the power of faith. What situations are you facing that seem hopeless? Is it a health crisis, a financial struggle, or a relational challenge? You are invited to believe in Jesus’ mighty power, which can accomplish great and marvelous things.

As you navigate life’s challenges, remember to search out God’s specific promises in Scripture that address your situation. Believe those promises, claim them, and stand on them. As you do, you will see the glory of God manifest in your life.

Prayer Points:
1. O Lord, I believe You; let me see Your wonders.
2. Father, I believe; please, help my unbelief.
