O God, Cover My Nakedness

Text: Ezekiel 16: 5-11
Memory Verse: “I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness” (Ezekiel 16:8b, NIV).

Nakedness is the state of being uncovered or exposed, often referring to the absence of clothing. Every normal human being desires to be
clothed, not just for protection from the elements, but also to reflect NGod’s beauty and preserve dignity. Clothing serves to cover our physical nakedness, but there is also spiritual nakedness.

Spiritually, nakedness represents sin, the loss of spiritual covering resulting in painful experiences such as poverty, barrenness, sickness, job loss, or grief. It can also result in shame, disgrace, fear, unproductive labour, leaking pockets, worry, and curses. In any form, nakedness is undesirable; it exposes you to vulnerability, pain, and spiritual attacks. The good news is that God is willing and able to cover your nakedness.

In Zechariah 3:4, He declares, “I will put fine garments on you.” When He first created Adam and Eve, they were clothed in His glory and were unaware of their nakedness, but when sin entered, they became exposed and tried to cover themselves with fig leaves. Still, God, in His mercy, made coats of skin and clothed them properly (Genesis 3:7, 21).

God offers you the covering of His Son’s blood to restore what sin has stripped away. Sin gives the enemy access to remove you from God’s protection; just as it did with Eve. To remain covered, you must reject sin, cling to God, and walk in obedience. Cry out to Him today, and He will cover your nakedness with His righteousness and mercy.

Prayer Points:
1. OLord, please forgive me of every sin that has exposed me.
2. O Lord, my Father, please cover my nakedness with the blood of Jesus.
