Text: Philippians 2:1-8
Memory Verse: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).
Live in God’s word and you will always have a word from God. It does not matter how much power, sensitivity or wealth you accumulate or how you do it. Ultimately, we all will leave our possessions in the world. There is no room for such things in eternity. Consequently, Paul urges believers to leave the “old self” behind and be clothed with the “new self” in Christ. Believers in Christ are to speak the truth, seek reconciliation and share what they receive while the world thrives on falsehood, anger and stealing in different forms.
A true Christian is known by his or her good speech, humility and kindness towards others. It should be no surprise that this world is plagued with everincreasing hatred and animosity among nations, races and even religions. The disease is in the sinful condition of a heart that does not know Christ nor strives to be like Him (1 Corinthians 1:23-25).
God’s plan in Christ is to bring every believer’s moral conduct in line with the life of Christ, which is the standard and pattern established for Christians. This means living out the Christian life here and now, no matter the stress. Our
philosophy of life is to treat others as we would like to be treated, even when they treat us badly, just like Christ “who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to
Him who judges righteously” (1 Peter 2:23).
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, please remould my life to Your taste.
2. Lord, give me the power and grace to live a genuine Christian life.
