Text: Luke 22:39-43; Ephesians 1:15-21
Memory Verse:“I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers” (Ephesians 1:16 NIV).
I love telling people that, if you pray biblical prayers, you will get biblical results. This means that if you pray following the Bible pattern, you will also get the kind of result they got in those days as Bible prayers are
powerful because they put things into perspective and help you to pray right. If you want to pray right, you must learn to do the following:
1. Make your prayers God centred: Many believers tend to focus more on the size of their problems or challenges and even magnify the devil rather than God. You have the privilege of taking your requests to the Creator of the
universe, the God who makes things happen (Psalm 77:14-20). Tell Him how great He is.
2. Make them full of praises: Paul starts by saying, “I have not stopped giving thanks for you.” Jesus, before giving out the bread and fishes to the disciples to share to the people gave thanks and was always filled with praise and thanksgiving to God. The result was astounding. The key is not to focus on your troubles, but to thank God and praise Him because He knows what He is doing.
3. Make them life changing: Oftentimes, our prayers are asking God to change our circumstances, but maybe He wants to change you instead. If you have spent years praying for something that has never happened, it
may indicate that you are not praying the right way. Learn to pray the right way.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, thank You for the privilege of taking my requests to You.
2. Holy Spirit, please, teach me to always pray right.
