Proverbs 23:15-21

Memory Verse:
“Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day” (Proverbs 23:17).

Do not let your heart envy sinners. Watch and guard your heart against Dthe temptation of wanting to live in the same way as a sinner. Fear the Lord, and continue in His reverent fear all the day long.
Remember that you have left the old lifestyle behind and now live to please God.
You will also be rewarded for doing so. Proverbs 23:18 (AMP) says,“Surely there is a future [and a reward], And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.” Be assured that you will get a reward for living right, because God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Proverbs 24:1&2 say, “Do not be envious of evil men, Nor desire to be with them; For their heart devises violence, And their lips talk of troublemaking.” It is wisdom not to allow yourself to be enticed as instructed. It will be like going back to your vomit! Cease associating with old friends who do not believe what
you now believe and make new friends with like minds. The end of the seemingly easy way of life is destruction.
It is sometimes tempting to envy those who appear successful, even when they do not obey God’s law. For a time, they do seem to prosper, though they have no regard for what God wants. However, they have no future. To those who follow Him, God promises a hope and a wonderful future, even if they do not appear successful in this life. Child of God, do not despair.

Prayer Points:
1. Father, help me to continue to fear You above all.
2. Father, my hope will not be disappointed.
