Draw From The Well Of Divine Promises

Text:
Genesis 26:19-33

Memory Verse:
“It came to pass the same day that Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well which they had dug, and said to him, ‘We have found water’”(Genesis 26:32).

A sage said that you need people to help you succeed in life. No wonder Awe learn that we should “Never abandon a friend— either yours or your father’s” (Proverbs 27:10 NLT). Most people who find it difficult to develop or sustain relationships will always struggle in life. If you depend
only on what you alone can achieve, you will be grossly limited. “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9). God should be your best friend because, if He does not help you, no one can. Isaac represents one of the best you can see in Abraham’s lineage. He followed the footsteps of his father in almost all things. Like his father, he was a farmer. He knew the sites and names of all the wells Abraham had dug. His
relationship with his father must have been the reason why he sought God in all things. He dug natural wells and found water. He learnt to avoid enmity and quarrels just as Abraham did when he avoided quarrelling with Lot’s herdsmen. He benefited from the promises of God with Abraham, his father(Genesis 26:3, 24).
Are you aware of the promises of God for your life? Are you aware that as a believer you are an heir of God’s promises to Abraham? Faith is demonstrated in what you do when others are in doubt. Never fail to draw from the well of God’s promises. Abraham left a godly heritage. Plan to leave a godly heritage for your children.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me so that I will never lose Your friendship.
2. Lord, help me to draw from Your well of divine promises.
