Text: Ecclesiastes 8:8-14
Memory Verse: “No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, And no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, And wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it” (Ecclesiastes 8:8).

There is a battle no man can escape. Ecclesiastes 8:8 AMP says “… no man who has power over the day of death; and there is no discharge in battle (against death)…” that is the universal and inevitable nature of death.

The mystery that surrounds death includes the fact that: no one knows the day of his/her death, the type of death that one would die and where, precisely, one would die, but eventually you will die of something and the question is; how can you die correctly?

You can die correctly by preparing in advance. It was a truly human tombstone that bore the inscription, ‘I expected this, but not just yet.’ Here’s how you prepare for death. ‘If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved’ (Romans 10:9). Secondly, you can die correctly by fulfilling your life’s assignment. Jesus said, “I have glorified You on earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do” (John 17:4).

The Bible says it is appointed unto man once to die, after that the judgement, when you will stand before God and He will ask you, ‘What did you do with the gifts I gave you? Did you fulfill your assignment on earth?’ In that moment, nothing will be more important than how you answer that question. So, do your best to die correctly!

Prayer Points:
1. Father, grant me wisdom to live correctly and die correctly.
2. O Lord, help me to die fulfilled!
