Text: Proverbs 3:3-7
Memory Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on yourown understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).
Plants are living organisms that tend to grow upwards. They receive rain and sunshine to manufacture their food. When it rains and a plant is bent sideways, within a short time, it stands straight and looks upwards. It does not remain bent forever. As Christians we need to always look up to God for our wellbeing. There is nothing we can do as His children without Him. So, we should trust in the Lord always and lean not on our own understanding. Let us always look up to Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith.
No matter what happens we should not lose focus of heaven, but we must remain steadfast in serving the Lord. Psalm 121:1 says, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.” God knows His own and has never failed them. He will never fail you, only trust in Him who is the Creator and Possessor of heaven and earth.
The battle might be fierce, just remind yourself that the Lord is with you. David trusted in the Lord and that was why he could kill Goliath, the dreaded giant. What is that situation posing as a giant in your life? It will be brought
down, and every mountain confronting you will be brought low. As long as you do not lean on your own understanding and put your trust in the Lord, all will be well.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help me to always look up to You for all my daily needs.
2. Nothing will shift my focus from You, Lord, and my head will never be bowed.
