Text: Exodus 6:1-8
Memory Verse: “I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians” (Exodus 6:7).
The Israelites task was increased after Moses went to Pharaoh to ask for their release. As Moses was coming from Pharaoh, the officers of the children of Israel blamed him for inciting Pharoah to add to their burden. Moses went back to God who had sent him to Pharaoh. God assured Moses that He was the Lord and had heard the groaning of the Israelites whom the Egyptians kept in bondage.
Today God is reminding you that He is the Lord. He has heard your groaning and cries and is ready to set you free from your problems. The Israelites cried unto God who could deliver them from their bondage and their cries were
heard by the Lord, who alone is the I AM. He is Lord over every situation in our lives, no matter how difficult it is. The
Israelites’ burden was increased by Pharaoh, but God proved His Lordship over Pharaoh. He has promised that when we pass through the water, He will be with us; and through the river, it will not overflow us; through the fire, we shall
not be burned, and the flame will not kindle upon us. He is the Lord who makes a way in the wilderness and a path in the mighty waters.
The Israelites cried unto Him because He was their God. Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour (Acts 4:12)? If not, do so and He will demonstrate His Lordship in your situation.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, demonstrate Your lordship over my life.
2. Lord Jesus, do a new thing in my life.
