Text: Matthew 11:25-30
Memory Verse: “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
When you look at the world today and all that is happening, you see people desperately seeking help and rest from sources that cannot truly satisfy their longings. The world is filled with wickedness, violence, injustice, weariness, pain, and endless struggles. Hunger, debt, poverty, and hardship are widespread. New diseases emerge daily. Wars rage on, and death lurks at every corner.
In the midst of all this chaos, the invitation of Jesus is both timely and comforting: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). You need this rest now more than ever but take note; there is a condition: “Come to me.” You must respond personally. Yield to His invitation today, and you will find true rest for your soul. Only He can give the peace that calms every storm. He says in John 16:33 NLT “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Come while you still have breath. Rest in Jesus now and receive peace here on earth and eternal rest in heaven (John 14:27). If you are in Christ and He is in you, His rest becomes your portion. Yet, there is also an ultimate rest for those who endure and fight the good fight of faith. Keep striving to enter that final rest.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, I thank You for Your promise of rest.
2. Lord Jesus, I ask that You give me rest from all of my struggle, and pains.
