Text: John 11:25-32
Memory Verse: “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live’” (John 11:25).
The word “resurrection” simply means to bring something that is dead back to life. The story about Jesus bringing back to life a man called Lazarus, a friend of Jesus, who the scripture says had been dead for four days, is a very popular one.
This story clearly reveals one of the numerous supernatural abilities of God. It is known that, naturally, a person who has been dead for four days must have begun to decompose and smell. This signifies a state of hopelessness. However, Jesus demonstrates to us that, with God, all things are possible by bringing Lazarus back to life after he had been dead for four days.
This is a clear assurance that no matter how hopeless the issue or circumstances you might be facing, God is able and willing to turn it around for good. His love is constant, and His power is without limit. You simply need to believe in God’s promises as written in the scriptures concerning that situation. With a heart full of faith and obedience to the instruction in the word, that situation will be turned around for good.
This is a message of hope and reassurance for you today. When you come to Jesus, the Resurrection and life, and believe in him, you will experience the transformative power of God in every area of your life, even in a situation that seems to be spiritually hopeless, lifeless or beyond repair.
