Text: Mark 10:23-31

Memory Verse: “Then Peter began to say to Him, ‘See, we have left all and followed You’” (Mark 10:28).

After Peter’s declaration of a life of total surrender to follow the Lord Jesus, the Lord assured His disciples that anyone who gave up everything valuable for His sake will be repaid a hundred times in this life. For instance, if you are rejected by your family for accepting Christ Jesus’ ways of living, rest assured that you will gain the larger family of believers.

To follow the Lord Jesus means to, among others:
1. Accept His offer of lifestyle.
2. Take a clear decision to leave old sinful things and lifestyles behind.
3. Accept limitations and sufferings.
4. Persevere and never look back to “Egypt and Babylon”.
5. Renounce every ungodly thing.
6. Forsake wrong ideology and even a good salary that has the wrong strings attached.

You must know that if you are not willing to leave all, you cannot genuinely follow Him. Those who are afraid to leave all, may inherit this vain world, but they will surely regret their pursuit of vanity in the days to come. The reason you are looking back is because you have not left all. What exactly have you left to follow Him? Have you truly left all or just some? You have to be decisive on this and make up your mind once and for all. It pays to leave all for the Lord Jesus, though it comes with its own persecution, pain, denial, suffering, but also with joy, fulfilment, satisfaction, purpose and pleasing the Lord. You need fresh understanding to do His will from the heart without reservation.

Prayer Points:
1. Holy Spirit, help me to leave all to follow You faithfully and serve Your purpose diligently.
2. Father, remove every distraction from me.
