Text: Luke 6:35-38

Memory Verse: “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most-High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil’ (Luke 6:35).

Whatever you do to God and His people has a way of coming back Wto you. You cannot sow without reaping. Some claim they do not have, yet there is nobody created by God that does not have something to give. For the love of God to take root in others, you must be willing to give your time, talents and treasures.

The widow of Zarephath lent a hand by meeting Elijah’s need. God then replenished her pot of flour and bottle of oil continuously till the famine was over (1 Kings 17:10-16). In Matthew 14:17-21, the little lad that released his five loaves with two fishes for the feeding of the multitude had more to take home! How do you give, grudgingly or generously? Follow the example of Abraham when he served the angels with humility, bowing down. He served joyfully with excitement, passion and generosity, along with his household. That is the spirit of service that is required for God to accept your offering. Abraham was rewarded. God will also reward your generous heart.

What are you holding back? What is your style of giving, both in church and to the needy around you? How generous and liberal are you? What is your contribution to the various welfare funds? Remember that the liberal soul will be made fat and the one that waters will be watered too. Hebrews 6:10 also says God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love.

Prayer Points:
1. Almighty God, inspire and strengthen me to bless others willingly.
2. As I give and lend a hand in welfare service, I will not miss my reward.
