Daniel 3:26-30
Memory Verse:
“Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this” (Daniel 3:29).
To deliver someone is to liberate, rescue, save or redeem the person from an impending danger, trouble or calamity. Real deliverance only comes from God. Some people may rely on certain things to get delivered, but the only total and lasting deliverance is from the Lord Almighty. He is able to
deliver to the utmost. The story of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego is a very popular one that
showed that when you stand for the Lord, no matter how terrible the situation might be, it will end in praise and glory to His name. King Nebuchadnezzar set up a gold image and commanded that all peoples, nations and languages should all fall down and worship the gold image. But these three Hebrew men refused.
They stood their ground and would not bow to the gold image. They chose to stand for the Lord and His word. As a result of this, they were thrown into the fire, but the fire did not have any impact on them, nor was there any smell of fire on their clothes (Daniel 3: 27). By this experience, an unbelieving king, who saw what God did for them, acknowledged that there is no other God that
can save like the God of Israel. When you stand for God, He will show Himself as the Great Deliverer. Are you standing for Him where you are? Can you refuse to bow to any image that
may be erected in our time and generation? Stand for Him today.

1. Father, I choose to stand for You at all times.
2. O Lord, show Yourself as my great deliverer.
