Text: Hebrews 10:1-10
Memory Verse: “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could
take away sins” (Hebrews 10:4).
Robert Lowry in his hymn ‘Nothing but the Blood’ penned the following words- “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; what can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow, no other fount I know; nothing but the blood of Jesus”. For my pardon, this I see…For my cleansing, this my plea…Nothing can for sin atone…Naught of good that I have done…This is all my hope and peace…This is all my righteousness…Glory! Glory! This I sing… All my praise for this I bring… Indeed, it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins, but Jesus, with His own blood, entered the Most Holy place once for all and secured our redemption forever (Hebrews 9:12 NLT). This He did because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness or remission of sin. No sacrifice whatsoever can atone for our sins, but the blood of Jesus.
What else can you or do you trust in for the forgiveness and remission of your sins? Is it your confession to a priest somewhere or your good works? Remember Robert Lowry said “naught of good that I have done and Ephesians
2:8&9 says “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast”.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord Jesus, let my faith find a resting place in You alone.
2. Father, let the blood of Jesus purge and cleanse me from every filth in Jesus’ name.
