Text:
Daniel 3:8-18
Memory Verse:
“If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us
from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king”
(Daniel 3:17).
When someone is said to be able, it means the person has the required power, skill, resources or qualifications to do something. It means they have the ability or capability of getting something
done. God is the ‘all-able God’. There is nothing He cannot do. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego answered and said convincingly to King Nebuchadnezzar that the God they served was able to deliver them (Daniel 3:17). They were confronted with the temptation to bow and worship the
golden image that the king setup as god, if not, they would be thrown into the fiery burning furnace. But because they knew the God they served, they refused. They said with all confidence that even if they would be thrown into the blazing fire, they would not bow down. They were eventually thrown into the fire, but God delivered them.
Is there any situation confronting you today in your place of work, your home, children, studies or business? Stand and declare with confidence like the three Hebrew men did, and you will see God’s intervening hand. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
You, however, need to know Him personally before you are able to make such a declaration as “He will deliver me.” Seek to know Him more and serve Him. By doing so, as trouble, difficulty or temptation comes, you will be able to prevail over them. Go and overcome today and always.
Prayer points:
1. Father, I praise and worship You, for You are able to deliver me.
2. O Lord, arise and deliver me.
