Text: Mark 5:1-2, 12-19
Memory Verse: “However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, ‘Go
home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for
you, and how He has had compassion on you’” (Mark 5:19).
As I walked into class, one of my students ran up to me to show me the pretty ribbons that her mum had put on her hair. I could not hide my smile. She began telling me everything her mum did for her every morning before school. This singular act reminded me of the story of the man of Gadarene and the directive Jesus gave him. Jesus told him to tell everyone what God had done for him. Just like my studentwho could not hide what her mum had done for her
because she was grateful and felt that her mum had made her feel pretty, we should also be excited to tell others how God has helped us.
God takes care of us every day. We get up from bed, carry out our daily business, and see His hands in every area of our lives. Some of His deeds are so visible that people cannot help but ask us what has caused our transformation. In these times, do not hide your blessings. Proudly declare the works of God in your life. In doing so, you bring glory to God and encourage others who need help with their faith. In 1 Chronicles 16:24, the scripture urges us to “declare His glory among the nations. His wonders among all peoples.” Today and every day, choose to declare the works of God in your life and bring glory to His name.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, show me how I can declare Your good works in my life.
2. Father, grant me a heart of gratitude.
