Exodus 18:14-24

Memory Verse:
“Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens” (Exodus 18:21).

Asking for help is of great benefit, not only to the person asking for it, but to other people who are directly linked to them. Also, learning to delegate duties to other members of a team will increase productivity in the long run. In the world today, many people have chosen to hide their
weaknesses and attempt to portray strength at all times. Moses was a leader appointed by God to lead the Israelites into the promised land. God made him a god to Pharaoh; and Aaron, his brother, a prophet and spokesperson before Pharaoh (Exodus 7: 1&2). A time came when the task
given to Moses became so much for him that it was obvious that he would eventually wear himself and the people out. There was a limit to what he could do and his effectiveness was in question as he did not delegate duties. Jethro’s counsel came to him at the much needed time and it was a good thing that he listened to him and obeyed.
You may not want to be a burden to other people and so may decide not to ask for help. Review your situation prayerfully. There is nothing wrong in seeking help. Even the scripture encourages us to help one another (Ephesians 6:2). We cannot go far in life without asking God for help daily.
So, do not attempt to live your life relying on your strength alone. Seek help when necessary.

Prayer Points:
1. God, may I not be overwhelmed with the issues of life.
2. O Lord, help me rely on Your strength for my life at all times.
