Stay in Agreement with God

Text: Luke 1:11-20
Memory Verse: “But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time” (Luke 1:20).

Zechariah and his wife had served God faithfully but had no child. They had prayed for one for years, yet Elizabeth was barren, and they were both old. So, when Angel Gabriel announced to Zechariah that he and his wife would have a baby named John, Zechariah questioned how it would be possible. Like many, he doubted.

It is easy to settle into a familiar routine, even one shaped by disappointment rather than believing God for who He is calling you to become. The children of Israel settled for being slaves, even after God rescued them from the slavery and bondage in Egypt. Right there in the wilderness, they opted to go back to Egypt as slaves and continue to eat their cucumber and lettuce (Numbers 14:4). Too often, we get comfortable with what we have when God has more for us!

God made Zechariah dumb for nine months because he doubted the news brought by the angel (Luke 1:20). When you hear mind blowing destiny changing news, you may not see how it can happen but do yourself a favour and stay in agreement with God.

Do not go around thinking about how it is or is not going to work out. If you stay in agreement with God, all the forces of darkness cannot stop what God has said from happening (Job 22:21-25). He will turn situations that look impossible around.

Prayer Points:
1. Father, thank You for the promises You have spoken to my spirit.
2. Help me, Holy Spirit, not to talk myself out of my blessing.
