Text:
Ephesians 2:4-13
Memory Verse:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
The Church, which came into existence in the New Testament, is made up of those who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. It is an established fact that God created all things and made human beings the apex of His creation, but the full revelation of God’s compassion was when
Jesus hung on the cross, dying in place of sinful mankind, and for those who never knew Him.
Thousands of people perished in the Old Testament because of their sinful and disobedient lifestyle as in the case of Korah, Dathan and Abiram (Numbers 16), but Jesus brought God’s grace under which we receive the forgiveness of sins. The excellency of the Church surpasses all the wonders of creation. Believers participate in fellowship with God the Father, Son and Spirit through no merit
of their own. They enter into the finished work of Christ and from then on they become joint heirs with Christ. They gain access to God the Father through the Son and are united with the Holy Spirit.
The Church, being built on the foundation of Jesus Christ, is blessed with the Spirit of excellence, power and wisdom. In Acts 9:33-34, Peter healed Aeneas, a man who had been bedridden for eight years. In Acts 28:3-5, we read of the experience of Paul when he shook off a venomous snake into fire and remained unhurt. Whatever everyone in the Church is good at, let him or her do it. The
good work you need to do has been prepared for you by God.
Prayer Points:
1. Let me be fully surrendered to You, O Lord, so I can manifest Your beauty to the world.
2. May I step into the good works that You have ordained for me to do.
