Text: John 10:1-9
Memory Verse:“I am the Door: by Me if any man enters in, he shall be saved,
and shall go in and out, and find pasture” (John 10:9).
A door is a moveable, solid barrier for opening and closing an entrance or a way into a building, room, vehicle, cabinet, or the like. It provides access to the outside of a building or to the rooms in the building. When opened, doors provide ventilation and light to rooms, facilitate views as well as act as a barrier to noise. When closed, it provides security, prevention of unauthorised access, privacy as well as resistance to adverse weather conditions.
Doors are so important to human existence that Jesus used it metaphorically to refer to Himself In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus identified two doors – the wide and the narrow doors. The wide door leads to death and destruction while the
narrow door leads to eternal life. The doors are there but you have to decide which door to enter. Our destiny is
shaped by which doors we walk through and which doors we walk past. It is the decision you make regarding Jesus Christ that determines which door you will choose to enter.
There are doors, but there is only one Door by which one can be saved and enter into eternal life. Other doors are many varied religions of the world, which are false and lead to eternal damnation. Jesus is the only Door (John 10:9) that once you have come to Him for the salvation of your soul, you can be assured of His guidance in all the other doors of your life (Matthew 6:33).
Prayer Points:
1. Heavenly Father, I resist and reject every power that may hinder me from entering through the narrow door.
2. Help me Lord, never to walk past doors of opportunities.
