Text: Psalms 1:1-6
Memory Verse: “But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law he meditates day and night” (Psalms 1:2).
The man that truly lives and embraces the guidance of the law shall truly prosper. One of such laws is the law of the Lord. This can also be referred to as the law of the Spirit because the Lord is the Spirit. This law of the Spirit of life is essential for everyone who truly desires to live a victorious Christian life (Romans 8:2).
The law of the Lord must not depart out of the mouth of the believer that desires an enviable and prosperous life. He must meditate on it day and night, and observe to do according to all that is written and captured within it (Joshua
1:8). You must know the content of the law of the Lord accurately and read it daily so that you may learn to fear the LORD your God, keep all the words and do them.
The discipline of regular reading will prevent you from deception and pride; acting as if you are above your fellow believers. It will also prevent you from turning away from His commands. Those who ignore the law of the Lord
cannot please God. The law of the Lord is the Word of God. Psalm 119:50 says, “This is my comfort in my affliction. For Your word has given me life.” God’s word gives life to all who make it their duty to read, study and live by it. Make the word of God your delight.
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, give me a fresh desire for Your word.
2. Father Lord, strengthen me to love and live by the law of the Spirit.
