Text:
Psalm 91:1-6
Memory Verse:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1).
It is critical to take refuge in God. That is what makes the difference between security and being susceptible to danger. While the evil and the wicked ones are perishing, God’s full protection covers as many as take refuge in Him. It is not everyone who worships God that is privileged to abide under His shadow. It is only those who abide in Him and His word abides in them (John 15:4). Unlike those who come and go like visitors, they remain in God’s presence, accessing the holy of holies near the blood sprinkled mercy seat where prayer is a matter of constant privilege.
The secret place of the Most High is a holy place of sacrifice where a heart-to heart communion devoid of corruption takes place with God. Covenants are established there. The benefits of the secret place are enormous and include: being delivered from the snare of the fowler and the fear of the terror by day or night. With the cover of His feathers and under His wings, no evil can befall
you or any plague come near your dwelling. His guiding angels are always around you for protection, such that you can tread upon serpents and scorpions and not be harmed (Luke10:19). In times of distress, when you call, He is right there to deliver and meet your needs.
To dwell is a choice. To abide means to stay permanently. Will you make that choice?
Prayer Points:
1. I receive grace to abide in Your secret place, O Lord!
2. Father, let nothing take me away from Your presence.
