Matthew 24:3-11
Memory Verse:
“For many will come in My name, saying ‘I am Christ, and will deceive many’…And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:5&14).
Jesus predicted the signs Christians should watch out for to know when the end is near. He was explicit in describing all that would happen, starting from people impersonating Him, to tribulations, wars, deceit, nation rising against the other, kingdom against kingdom, earthquakes and more. He admonishes us not to be deceived by the fake doctrines and teachings, though they may seem attractive and pleasurable. Many people will be lured into sin and their conscience, having been seared as a result of greed and lawlessness, they will not care whether it is right or wrong (Matthew 24:12). Presently, there is already a manifestation of these foretold signs. Family ties are being broken by blood relations, siblings are killing themselves, there is hatred amongst kinsmen and conspiracy, even in religious gatherings. We must be careful so that we do not fall into the traps of these predators of souls (1 Corinthians 10:12).
You need to be guided as you have been forewarned. Remain focused on Him. Live cautiously to please Him and anticipate His glorious second coming. No one knows the exact time, hour or day He will come, not even the angels, but the clues given to us should be our guide. 1 Corinthians 15:23-26 explains how the end will take its course. Will you be ready any time the curtains draw? Will you be ready to be raptured? Strive to be rapturable so that your life’s journey in this world will not be a waste.
