Micah 7:2-7

Memory Verse:
“…A man’s enemies are the men of his own household” (Micah 7:6b).

There is a saying that if the enemy within cannot kill a man, the enemy Toutside will not be able to either. Household enemies started with Cain and Abel. Rivalry is a common vice that is prominent today. Man’s greatest enemy is man. Every evil done by man is targeted at another man; to bring down, oppress, shame, kill him etc. When man wars, it is against another, when man destroys, it is another. From Micah 7,the following are worthy of note in addressing unbrotherliness:
1. Faithful men have perished from the earth, and there is no one upright among men.
2. They all lie in wait for blood; every man hunts his brother with a net.
3. They successfully do evil with hands.
4. The prince asks for gifts and the judge seeks a bribe.
5. Great men utter evil desire; scheming evil.
6. The best of them is like a brier, the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge.
7. One can no longer trust a friend.
8. One can no longer put confidence in a companion.
9. A son dishonours his father.
10. A daughter-in-law goes against her mother-in-law. Unbrotherliness is the order of the day. The outcome of the chaotic picture above, according to Micah 7:4b,is judgement which will come and all shall be perplexed. We must renounce every act that will open us up to the anger of God. Let us spread brotherly love where hatred is the norm and let others see Jesus in us.

Prayer Points:
1. Father, uproot every selfish ambition in me.
2. Father, help me to choose love over greed and hate.
