What Are You Doing For God 2?

Text: Acts 3:6-12, 16

Memory Verse: “And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all” (Acts 3:16).

Serving God goes beyond lip service, it requires doing. What are you doing for Him? Are you doing all you can? Can you be better at what you are doing? Are you being a good steward of your time, which is the greatest asset you have? Do you love God enough and believe that He is able to help you to tell others about Him? Our ability comes from Him, and you must depend on Him in every situation.

Peter and John acknowledged the fact that it was by God’s power that the lame man was healed. It is very easy to become proud like King Nebuchadnezzar and Herod and take the glory for your success in ministry (Daniel 4:28-33; Acts 12:23). Do not allow people’s acknowledgment and praise to cause you to stumble. Remember that it will be your loss and downfall, not theirs (Matthew 6:1-3).

Are you an inspiration to others? In which way are you or can you be an inspiration? Helping others know Christ is more important than anything you can give them. Do your words inspire others? Having someone who cares
genuinely and shows it, is inspiring. Correcting someone’s bad habit is in order and also encourages others to live godly lives.

What have you decided to do for God? Determine to serve God with total commitment. Depend on His leading as He makes His will clear to you, and remember to give Him all the glory as He blesses your efforts.

Prayer Points:
1. Lord, open my eyes and ears to understand what You will have me do better.
2. How else can I make a difference for You, Lord?
