Text:
Matthew 6:25-34
Memory Verse:
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” (Matthew 6:25).
Jesus is our burden bearer. He came to this world for that purpose. He Jcarried on Himself the iniquities of us all. He suffered shame and humiliation for our sake (Isaiah 53:1-5). He wants all Christians to cast their burdens on Him because He cares for us. No wonder He said in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” This is a great invitation from the Lord Jesus Christ that we ought not to worry, but cast our cares upon Him.
Instead of doing this, however, many of us still find ourselves being unnecessarily anxious about our lives and about tomorrow. This is a demonstration of total lack of faith in God and His unfailing love for us. Anxieties are designed by Satan to weigh you down, depress, disorganise your
journey of faith, and create doubt in you about the faithfulness of God. There is nothing good about anxiety; that is why every child of God must not give in to it. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
Child of God do not carry that load of anxiety, it is not for you. Jesus Christ who is your burden bearer has already taken care of the issues of life that tend to disorganise and weigh you down. Only believe and trust Him and all shall be well.
Prayer Points:
1. I say no to every spirit of anxiety in my life.
2. Lord Jesus, I cast all my troubles and burdens upon You, please help me.
